Congratulations Newlyweds!

Congratulations to our Niece Erica and her new hubby Daniel who got married on Saturday! It was a beautiful wedding and a joyous family occasion...we are so happy for them! Here are more:

The Bride and Groom with Kaley and Caroline, sweet!
Erica made a gorgeous Bride if I do say so myself, everyone said she looked like Snow White! It's hard for me to believe that this Bride was the Flower Girl in my wedding...

Kaley shared a dance with her Cousin Byron, while Caroline had the honor with Cousin Brandon (thanks guys, that was too cute).

The Reception was very pretty and had a red and white and heart theme...beautiful!

The delicious wedding cake (there was no smashing here folks). :)

Our family portrait (we clean up pretty good)...Doug, Kim, Kaley and Caroline

COUSINS! This is our Niece and her husband, our Nephew (the Bride's brother) on the right, our other 2 nephews on the left and our girls. This is a fave since this crew is rarely together!

Finally, the happy couple (daydreaming about the cruise around Hawaii they are about to take) relaxing a bit. We were honored to be able to share in their special day. We wish them every Blessing as they begin their journey as husband and wife and always...we love you lots!

Message From Kaley

Hi everyone! Thanks for the nice comments about my nature pictures! This is my hamster Oreo. ok, so maybe I'm a little obsessed with my hamster, but hey, my mom's the one who's obsessed. My Mom is obsessed with Rick Springfield. Caroline is a natural at riding horses. She was awesome! Check out Hooked on Hamsters and go to The hamster stars Gallery and if you click on the Archives, my hamster will be on there! Thanks Auntie Chris and Uncle Mike for voting for him! Well I have to go, so I will be on here later! P.S: Auntie Chris, there is NOTHING wrong with being afraid of horseback riding! and I just took this pic of Oreo yesterday. Bye!

Message From Caroline

Thanks everyone for sending the comments about me and Jet and my Birthday Horseback Ride! I can't believe I actually rode the horse for my first time. I was a little scared at first, but I got used to it. All my worries went away once I got the directions though. It was awesome! I just can't get over how cool it was! My Mom said that her horse was really really slow. My Dad had to keep up and help my Mom so she wouldn't fall behind. Our Guide said that we needed to give the horses their space and if we did nothing would go wrong. Don't be scared Auntie Chris, it's the opposite for me. I'm scared of roller coasters, trust me, LOL!

7 Random Things About Me

OK, so I was tagged by my blogger "surrogate sister" Chris and now have to list 7 random things about myself, so here goes:

1. I am addicted to watching Nancy Grace on CNN...love "Lady Justice"!

2. The first time I went on a plane I was 10 years old and traveled alone to visit an Aunt.

3. I know the words to every song (and there are way more than you think) that Rick Springfield ever sang and/or wrote and am prone to start singing them at will when the mood strikes, especially on long car trips. :) P.S. Don't even get me started on my Rick obsession!

4. I have read every book ever written by Danielle Steele, Nicholas Sparks, Maeve Binchy, and Sarah Dessen.

5. I was on the news when I was 16 since I marched in the Band that went to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. (Sidenote to Chris: you were sorely missed, it was the only Turkey Day that I dind't spend with my family and I was cold, wet, and miserable). I played flute and piccolo and still can, tee hee...

6. My married last name is also the first name of my Uncle, middle name of my Brother and middle name of my Mom (the female version). If I told you, I'd have to kill you, ha ha!

7. I am very creative, artistic and crafty, but can't draw to save my life. Go figure, LOL!

Weekend Wrap Up

OK, just a warning that now we have to go back to work, my posts will probably slow down. I admit that I went a bit crazy getting introduced to bloggerland and getting caught up. :)
So here's q uick run down of our weekend:
I: started a blog, relaxed, did some chores, relaxed, hung out by the pool with my sis and her kids, relaxed, had the parents over for some grub, relaxed, read a book, relaxed, shopped a bit, and relaxed some more! All the while the kids were complaining of boredom, but I was in heaven (while poor Dad had to work all weekend). Why is it that the school aged kids spend all year whining about not having enough "free time", then summer rolls around and within 3 days they are dying of boredom?! LOL!

To close, I wanna wish you all a happy holiday and leave you with a teaser in hopes that you'll check us out again ...stay tuned for posts from the other contributors of this page real soon!

Sunday Night SkipBo Smackdown!

This evening, after the kids had a swim and Dad grilled burgers we decided to have a family game night. As everyone that knows me can attest, I take SkipBo seriously and LOVE this game. Tonight my family made me realize how much fun it is to be silly while playing, LOL! We had fun spending some time together tonight realxing and laughing up a storm. Hip Hip Hooray for the long weekend! Happy Memorial Day to everyone and God Bless Our Troops (past, present and future).

Art Show

I'm sure everyone is getting tired of us bragging on our kids about now, but since I'm playing catch up, please bear with me (I'm almost done, tee hee). The art teacher at Liney's school chose her to be the "Art Student of the Month" and as such she got one of her pieces in a student Art Show at the local Mall for the entire county. Her first art show at 9...pretty kewl, huh?! This is her meerkat animal weaving, we are SO proud! :)

Little Thespian

Caroline was chosen to be a speaker in the end of the year play about the solar system at her school, it was for the entire 3rd grade. She had such a great delivery that she actually got 2 speaking parts. She had to get dressed up and got flowers from her Grandparents. The chorus sang back up and Caroline was super! Of course we knew she'd be a natural as we've always thought she has a future as an actress or comedian (the nice way of saying she's our resident "drama queen"). It was a great production...yeah Liney! I love this pic of our two girls too!

Easter Snaps ( A Bit Late)

This year, the girls decorated sparkly eggs with Dad (a tradition), then got a visit from the Easter Bunny and had an egg hunt at Grandma's house. Can you tell that little sister woke big sister up a bit early this year?! They got spoiled of course, and we had egg salad for days to come! :)

Budding Photographer

Kaley took these nature photos one gorgeous day outside our house. She kidnapped my camera and came back with these, I was impressed! I think the one of the tree is may fave. I love that she is so creative; she taught herself to play keyboard, draws like an artist and is now tackling videos with her own composed music on her mac. You go Kaley!

We Love Lindsay!!!

Since Chris dedicated her 100th post to me as a new blogger, I have to brag on her adorable daughter Lindsay whose about to turn one. I am so excited to get to spent some one on one Auntie Kim time with her next month too! Here are some snaps from her last visit to see us earlier in the month. She was so cute (especially after a long car ride) and loved playing with the other girls...we just love her so much and can't get enough of this little one! :)

Our Young Lady

Since I'm playing a bit of catch up in bloggerland, here are photos from Kaley's 12th birthday from a few months ago. She's our beautiful, smart, creative and funny young lady. They grow up SO fast! She had a great sleepover with her friends and got a fabulous Yamaha keyboard that rocks! Of course her crazy sister had to get in on the action. Her ice cream cake was a big hit too.
